My rates average $50 an hour, but I can also quote you on a project basis if it makes more sense for both of us.
When does the clock start ticking? Not till we start working on your project. Preliminary consultation and quick questions are free. If the information is in my head or in my computer and I can answer you on the phone or in a quick email, you won't pay a dime. I always enjoy meeting new folks on the phone, learning what they're up to, and helping them in simple ways.
If that preliminary conversation leads to a project, we'll agree on a fee structure before I start work for you. If the scope of the project changes in mid-stream, I'll requote before going further, so you won't ever get any surprise bills at the end of a job.
I meet deadlines faithfully. If earthquakes, acts of war, or other unusual events make this impossible, I will notify you well ahead of the original deadline, so we can agree on a new date that suits us both.
